The Reverie captures the concept of “journey” in the form of an internal retreat for the transient hikers and Eaglehawk Neck community. The site sits at an important gateway point into the lower Tasman Municipality, and the various programs accommodate for those passing through, and those that call Eaglehawk Neck home.

By curating a sequence through the various spaces, the interplay of light, material and nature of self reflection coalesce to provide a dynamic experience which will challenge the perception of space and an individuals place within it.

The compression and expansion of spaces creates a dynamic experience and is programmatically supported by the existing Office Quarters, exchange centre, reflection hall, spa and hikers accommodation.

By the end of the retreat, visitors will be cleansed and will leave with a deeper understanding of “self” and a new gained perspective and insight can be taken away.
